Sharon
I am a mum of three, but i have only breastfed my youngest child. My baby boy is now six months old and although i have cut my breastfeeding down to once at bedtime i wish with all my heart that i had given it a go with my other two sons, i guess the stigma attached to breastfeeding put me off, and while i did not let it deter me this time, i found that there was very little support from shops and businesses in our area and no facilities in my local town!!
At the beginning things didn't go great and i have to admit it was a struggle to keep going but you have to keep telling yourself that you are giving your baby the best and now i know it was all worthwhile when i look at my little boy and see his happy healthy smiling little face looking back up at me.
I have to say i am really proud of myself and it brings a smile to my face when i think what i've done and am still doing for my baby, but i couldnt have seen it through without the support of my breastfeeding midwife she was fantastic, the one thing i learnt is don't be afraid to ask for help there is plenty about!! Sharon.
