Coping with Breast Refusal
A baby's refusal to suck at the breast is a most distressing problem to a breastfeeding mother. She may feel that the baby is rejecting her, that he doesn't want her, need her or like her very much. Most breast refusal is temporary and the mother might never discover why the baby did refuse.
This booklet contains suggestions of why the baby may be refusing the breast and gives ideas on how to encourage the baby back to the breast.
